6u Spacebars - Center-stemmed
3u Spacebars - 3-stem DynaCap compatible
With the growth of DynaCap and the enthusiast EC community, many people have been asking for spacebars to use with their builds. 6u spacebars are often in child kits that have since sold out and GMK 3u's have always had 5 stems, making them incompatible with DynaCap housings. Starting with CYL Gorp, our 3u caps have been updated to the new 3-stem versions and many new sets from other vendors are adopting this, but sets from years past are lacking support. So these kits are adding support for 3u's you can use with DynaCap builds as well as 6u caps.
Each kit is slightly different, depending on what the base kits of certain sets offered. For example, the Dualshot kit has an extra B because it didn't have split spacebar in the base at all, but Botanical did, so it doesn't need the extra B.
Answers to some questions you may have
6u spacebars are a staple of the EC community and many sets from the past have either not had support at all or they were in a child kit that has since sold out. This has left many people who are getting into the EC community without any 6u spacebars for their favorite keycap sets to use on their DynaCap builds.
3u spacebars are not uniquely tied to EC, but GMK 3u spacebars have always been incompatible with DynaCap/EC housings because they have an extra 2 stems. They have 5 stems instead of the standard 3.
So this preorder is solving both of these issues together.
When 3u spacebars were created, it hadn't yet been decided if they would use the 2.25 stabs that were already around or if they would get their own custom 3u length wire. So GMK just put support for both.
No one thought anything of it until both 3u boards and DynaCap/EC started to grow in popularity and it was discovered that those extra two stems hit the housings on DynaCap/EC builds because EC housings are larger than MX. So no one could build any DynaCap boards with 3u bars without manually cutting out the extra stems.
To solve this issue, we just had GMK remove the two extra middle stems on all our projects going forward, starting with GMK Gorp last year.
Many new sets from other vendors are also adopting this; however, older sets from years past are lacking support completely and can't be used at all. Until now...

The small Dualshot kit has an extra B because CYL Dualshot 2 didn't have split spacebar in the base at all, so it is missing the extra B that most sets already have.
MTNU Dolch (XCC) had a 6u spacebar in the base kit, so it is not needed.
While MTNU Foundation (XCC) is a stock color, it is the only set to run in that color so far, and it included a 6u spacebar in the base, so it is not needed.
When GMK Dualshot 2 first ran it was before the boom of split spacebar support in the base and had none. The split spacebars were in the Obscure kit.
Once the Obscure kit sold out, we ended up splitting them off and creating a kit specifically for split spacebars, to make it cheaper than having to get an entire Obscure kit in addition to the base. This kit was only standard split spacebars and did not have 3u or 6u. I also made a mistake and completely forgot to add the extra B that was needed for standard split spacebar support.
So if you have already purchased that previous split spacebar kit, you can get the smaller Dualshot kit in this preorder to add onto it and complete it and also get the extra B that you may have been needing.
If you didn't buy that other split spacebar kit and want a full split spacebar support kit that includes 6u and 3u, you can get the larger one. This larger kit will just replace our previous split spacebar kit on the Dualshot page once these arrive, so we figured we might as well include it.
You can also just get the smaller one if all you care about is getting 6u and 3u spacebars.
Sorry if it is a little confusing, but it made the most sense to offer two kits since this set had some weird outdated kitting we are trying to solve.
